澳洲維多利亞歷史遺跡-Montsalvat artist community

位在墨爾本郊區的Montsalvat artist community 一抵達門口就看見像穀倉也有點像是馬廄的建築，這具有年代感的地方讓我有種回到19世紀那個我沒有體驗過的年代。

Located in the suburbs of Melbourne, the Montsalvat artist community features buildings that, upon arrival, resemble both barns and stables. This place, with its sense of age, makes me feel as though I've been transported back to the 19th century, an era I have not experienced.

近距離可以看到牆面是以類似像紅磚去砌成，木門的雕刻造型為木門增添了裝飾，真的好喜歡以前的裝飾小巧思為一道平凡的木門又為生活增加了一些美感。

Up close, you can see that the walls are made of materials resembling red bricks, and the carved designs on the wooden doors add decorative touches. I really appreciate how the intricate details of past decorations enhance the beauty of an otherwise ordinary wooden door, adding a touch of elegance to everyday life.

入口處就可以購買票券約14AUD（約台幣280元），非常值回票價，而每一次的展覽主題都不同，而這一次剛好是疫情過後沒多久的展覽：「ART IN THE TIME OF COVID-19」以我的理解應該是藝術家在疫情間的藝術創作。

At the entrance, you can purchase tickets for around 14 AUD (approximately NT$280), which is definitely worth the price. Each exhibition has a different theme, and this time it happened to be "ART IN THE TIME OF COVID-19," which, as I understand it, features artworks created by artists during the pandemic.

售票處也是一個展廳，這裡的藝術品不只有畫作也有裝置藝術，一整天待在這裡還會覺得時間不夠，畢竟這裡佔地有5 公頃，包括裡頭的房子、工作室、畫廊與馬廄。

The ticket counter also serves as an exhibition hall, where you can find not only paintings but also installation art. Spending an entire day here might still feel insufficient, as the area spans 5 hectares, including houses, studios, galleries, and stables.

展廳的裡頭的創作每一個都值得細細品嚐，我很喜歡這幾幅畫，遠遠看像是一般的風景畫，直到你靠近才會發現這裡有一台車子，或是畫的一角突然出現的鳥，這裡的藝術創作我都好喜歡，更甚美術館裡頭的館藏，反而我認為這裡創作都好有生命力跟想法。

The creations in this exhibition are each worth savoring carefully. I really like these paintings. From a distance, they look like ordinary landscape paintings, but as you get closer, you'll discover a hidden car or a bird suddenly appearing in a corner of the painting. I love the artistic creations here, even more than the collections in the museum. I feel that the works here are full of life and ideas.

另外像是這幅畫的顏色很豐富之外，筆觸看似雜亂但是細看就可以看見一些鳥和人類在畫裡頭而背景的樹木加上這樣的筆觸好像正在風中擺盪，是一幅動態感十足的平面畫作。

Additionally, this painting not only has rich colors, but its brushstrokes, though seemingly chaotic, reveal birds and human figures upon closer inspection. The background trees, combined with these brushstrokes, appear to sway in the wind, making it a dynamic piece of two-dimensional artwork.

展場中也會出現裝置藝術品，遠遠看只看見一個石頭在木棍上，走到正面才會發現大理石上是一張人臉。

In the exhibition space, there are also installation art pieces. From a distance, you might only see a stone on a wooden stick, but when you approach from the front, you'll realize that the marble has a human face carved into it.

再來是我覺得很特別的是藝術家在磁磚上作畫後拼貼而成超大幅的巨大創作，顏色非常繽紛就像是創世紀伊甸園的感覺。

What I find particularly special is how the artist creates a massive piece by painting on individual tiles and then assembling them. The colors are incredibly vibrant, giving the whole artwork a feeling reminiscent of the Garden of Eden from the Creation story.

靠近一點看就會發現很多有趣的畫面，像是抱著魚頭的人或是開出一朵小花的屁股，每一塊畫都有自己的故事要說，真的特別喜歡這樣的藝術創作。

When you get closer, you'll notice many intriguing scenes, like a person holding a fish head or a small flower blooming from a backside. Each tile tells its own story. I truly love this kind of artistic creation; it's so unique and captivating.

而擺在旁邊的畫，近看才會發現是編織畫，畫面是開車最常見的交通告示標語，而上面也都有寫上一些不同的字句，其中我喜歡的是寫著「RELAX,WE’RE DOING GREAT」和「THIS IS NOT OVER」我認為是藝術家要傳達的是我們對人生的反思。

The painting displayed next to it, upon closer inspection, turns out to be woven art. The images depict common traffic signs you often see while driving, with different phrases written on them. My favorites are "RELAX, WE'RE DOING GREAT" and "THIS IS NOT OVER." I believe the artist is conveying a message about our reflections on life.

走出藝廊就可以看到外頭有許多植物盆栽，而在盆栽之間也可以看到有躲在這之中的人物雕刻，覺得有趣的地方是當時因為疫情，所以規定要設立酒精消毒，而在這個充滿歷史遺跡的地方，牆上卻多了一個現代的酒精消毒噴霧，這算不算也是一個裝置藝術呢？

Stepping outside the gallery, you'll see many potted plants, and hidden among them are sculptures of human figures. What I found amusing was that, due to the pandemic, there was a requirement to install hand sanitizers. In this place full of historical relics, a modern hand sanitizer spray was added to the wall. Could this also be considered an installation art piece in its own right?

接著再往裡頭走也會看到展覽的標誌，走的途中也可以邊看到較為老舊的房屋，牆邊也可以看到擺放著廢棄的老舊鐵件和石塊鋪的地板又讓人感覺回到19世紀的年代。

As you walk further inside, you'll come across the exhibition signs. Along the way, you can also see older buildings, and by the walls, there are discarded old iron pieces. The stone-paved ground gives you a sense of stepping back into the 19th century.

外頭有些較為老舊與較小的房子雖然沒有開放，但是也可以在窗戶中看到裡頭的一些擺設，像是有卓別林的人偶和嘉年華會出現的小丑，看起來是一間人偶收藏的空間。

Outside, there are some older, smaller houses that aren’t open to the public, but you can still peek through the windows to see some of the displays inside. There are figures like a Charlie Chaplin doll and carnival clowns, suggesting that these spaces might be collections of figurines.

遠遠就看到白色的老舊馬廄所改建的建築，走進去發現原來是一間木作工作坊，從窗戶中就可以看到正在創作中的藝術家，而窗台還擺放著一隻木馬，為這個工作坊增添了一絲手作的溫暖。

From a distance, you can see an old white barn that has been converted into a building. Upon entering, you discover it's a woodworking workshop. Through the windows, you can observe artists working on their creations, and a wooden horse on the windowsill adds a touch of handmade warmth to the workshop.

參觀完木作工作坊再往前走就會先看到一座19世紀的城堡，牆面的石材是來自附近的採石場所建造，大門有一台和這座古堡非常匹配的古董車，原來是當天有人在裡頭結婚，而這台古董車是他們的結婚禮車，這樣的婚禮真的非常浪漫。

After visiting the woodworking workshop and moving forward, you'll first come across a 19th-century castle. The stone walls were built using materials from nearby quarries. At the entrance, there’s an antique car that perfectly complements the castle. It turns out that someone was getting married inside that day, and the antique car was their wedding carriage. Such a wedding setting is truly romantic.

由於入口處有結婚典禮於是乎我們從另一個入口進入古堡內，進入後可以看到牆面嵌著像「霍爾的城堡」會出現的壁爐，連同牆面的華美造型的銅製鏡子跟簡單的木造椅子，再搭配上有一種老舊書籍有點潮濕的味道，這個場景以前只會在童話故事出現，而我卻親眼看到的興奮感真的難以言喻。

Since the main entrance was occupied by the wedding ceremony, we entered the castle through another entrance. Inside, we saw walls adorned with a fireplace reminiscent of something from "Howl's Moving Castle," along with ornate bronze mirrors and simple wooden chairs. The subtle, musty smell of old books added to the ambiance. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale, and the thrill of experiencing it firsthand was truly indescribable.

石階走下後可以看到牆上掛著許多人像的油畫，反而都沒有風景畫，不曉得是不是曾經住在這裡的人的畫像。

As you descend the stone steps, you'll notice many portraits hanging on the walls, with no landscape paintings in sight. It makes me wonder if these portraits are of people who once lived in the castle.

這裡處處都是驚喜也都處處都值得停下，牆上也會突然發現掛著小石像，這個地方又讓我多認識喜歡了這個世界一點。

This place is full of surprises, and every corner invites you to pause and explore. Occasionally, you'll spot small stone sculptures hanging on the walls. It’s moments like these that help me appreciate the world a bit more.

這裡的家具是一些木製的餐桌和一些雕花椅子，木紋的脫落和刮痕留下了時間的痕跡，而裡頭竟然有一個年代久遠的鐵製旋轉樓梯，沒想到還可以走上樓，走的時候還有點不安，很怕自己一不小心就踩壞，但是事實是我多想了，頂多會有一些嘎吱的聲響。

The furniture here includes wooden dining tables and intricately carved chairs, with wood grain peeling and scratches marking the passage of time. Surprisingly, there’s also an old iron spiral staircase inside. I was apprehensive about climbing it, worried that I might damage it, but it turned out I had overestimated the risk—there was just a bit of creaking as I ascended.

站在二樓後就可以看到整個底下的空間，看起來就像一個客廳。

From the second floor, you can look down and see the entire space below, which resembles a living room.

離開城堡後就看到遠處有一座灰黑色的青石教堂，青石教堂走進去裡頭不大，算是非常簡約的一座教堂，除了走進去後有些陰冷加上都沒有人，走路的時候也有木頭的嘎吱聲，反而覺得有些恐怖，所以很快就離開了。

After leaving the castle, we noticed a gray-black stone church in the distance. The church, made of dark stone, is quite small and minimalist inside. It felt a bit cold and eerie, especially since it was empty and the wooden floors creaked with every step. The atmosphere was a little unsettling, so we left rather quickly.

走累了可以坐在一個老式建築的泳池旁有樹蔭可以休息， 非常的愜意，接著走進老式建築裡也有許多油畫可以欣賞，這裡充滿了許多看不完的藝術文化，不愧是有被列入「維多利亞遺產名錄」的地方。

After a tiring walk, you can relax by the shaded poolside of an old building, which is very soothing. Inside the building, there are many oil paintings to admire. The place is filled with endless art and culture, truly deserving of its status on the "Victorian Heritage Register."

走進來又看到了鐵製的旋轉樓梯，唯一的缺點就是樓梯的每一格都好窄，踩上去的時候要小心一點，走上樓後先發現了被陽光照射出了顏色的木地板，抬頭就會看到一扇跟木門一樣高的窗，好喜歡這個場景覺得好美，想把時間就停留在這一刻。

Found another iron spiral staircase, but the steps are so narrow you’ve gotta be extra careful going up. Once at the top, the sunlight hits the wooden floor just right, and then you look up and see this huge window as tall as the door. It’s one of those moments you just want to freeze in time.

下樓後也就可以開始慢慢欣賞每一幅油畫，甚至還擺放了一台三角鋼琴，彈了世界名曲小星星還得到了一位路人的掌聲，在這樣的人環境裡很難不喜歡自己。

After coming down the stairs, I took my time to admire each oil painting. There was even a grand piano on display, so I played "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and got applause from a passerby. I really love this kind of cultured, artistic atmosphere.

這裡不愧是藝術家會聚集的地方，有很多工作室之外，這裡的環境很適合創作，這間Skipper Studio 裡頭是比較抽象的藝術，雖然沒有過多的介紹但在觀看時又會非常的沈浸在裡頭。

This place truly lives up to its reputation as a gathering spot for artists. In addition to the many studios, the environment here is perfect for creative work. The Skipper Studio, in particular, features more abstract art. While there aren’t many detailed descriptions, the experience of viewing the pieces is deeply immersive.

準備結束後往出口的地方有一間咖啡廳，我們在這裡點了咖啡與一些甜點結束今天的行程，我個人是偏愛戶外的空間，多了些大自然的聲音少了一點人群的聲音，加上澳洲的天氣偏乾所以曬太陽是很舒服的，但是喝到一半發現開始下雨了所以就移動到室內的空間也是很不錯，靜靜享受完後還有點捨不得離開，推薦指數6顆星。

As we wrapped up our visit, we stopped by a café near the exit, where we ordered coffee and some desserts to end the day. Personally, I prefer outdoor seating—there’s more of nature’s sounds and less of the crowd, and with Australia’s dry weather, sitting in the sun is quite pleasant. However, halfway through, it started to rain, so we moved indoors, which was still a lovely experience. Quietly enjoying the moment, I found myself reluctant to leave. I’d give this place a 6-star recommendation!

官網上都可以看到一些活動的資訊之外，當然也是可以租場地在這裡結婚，除了浪漫之外，也可以在租一個空間在這裡展覽自己的創作甚至拍電影也可以，有些許的電影場景也有在這個地方拍攝，想一圓電影夢也可以租看看亦或是想在這裡創作藝術也不怕沒有靈感。

不過沒辦法去參觀的朋友也不用擔心，多虧了科技的力量官網上可以直接線上參觀，不過有機會非常推薦來一趟感受藝術跟人文氣息。
