澳洲第二大美術館-南澳美術館Art Gallery of South Australia

抵達阿德雷德市區與朋友去逛逛，走著就發現這棟建築的牆上鑲嵌著一幅幅畫作，無論是透視人物跟畫面的呈現都是大師級的藝術品，順著路走就走到了大門。

Arriving in the Adelaide city center to explore with friends, we noticed as we walked that the walls of this building were adorned with embedded artworks. The perspective of the figures and scenes portrayed was of masterful quality, truly artistic pieces. Following the path led us to the entrance gate.

仔細看整棟建築雖然看起來平平無奇但卻是1881年建成的古蹟，真的非常非常喜歡澳洲的歷史建築都維護得很好，反觀台灣的三合院卻一間一間被拆除感到非常可惜。

Upon closer examination, although the entire building may seem unremarkable, it is actually a historical landmark constructed in 1881. I truly appreciate how well-preserved Australia's historical architecture is, unlike the unfortunate fate of traditional Taiwanese courtyard houses, which are being demolished one by one.

南澳美術館的門口整體給我一種像古希臘神廟的建築感，大門前有一顆金屬橢圓球的藝術品才會意識到這裡是一間美術館，遠遠的看起來像一顆蛋。

The entrance of the South Australian Art Gallery gives off an overall architectural vibe reminiscent of ancient Greek temples. It's not until you see the art piece of a metallic oval sphere in front of the gate that you realize this is an art gallery. From a distance, it looks like an egg.

走進大門後的櫃檯旁就是特展的名稱，簡單的名稱介紹整個版面就已經很美了，內心的藝術細胞也是蠢蠢欲動想要趕快進去，不過我們是看一般展覽是不需要購票就可以入場。

After stepping through the entrance gate, beside the counter stands the name of the special exhibition. The simplicity of the title layout is already quite captivating, igniting a sense of anticipation within my artistic spirit, eager to delve inside. Fortunately, for the general exhibition, no tickets are required for entry.

推薦台灣的美術館也許可以實施這樣的政策，可以培養一般民眾的美感之外，讓藝術推廣的範圍更大不限於成人，甚至從小孩就可以有好的大腦學習，而對於喜歡藝術的人更是一種療癒的事情。

I recommend that Taiwanese art museums consider implementing such a policy. It can not only cultivate aesthetic appreciation among the general public but also broaden the scope of art promotion beyond adults. Even children can benefit from early exposure to art, which can contribute positively to their cognitive development. Additionally, for those who already have a passion for art, it can serve as a therapeutic activity.

一走進來就有許多畫作可以欣賞，滿滿的畫作中最引起我注意的是這幅木雕畫框，立體的向日葵造型讓整體看起來有一種季節感，畫作看起來也有種溫暖的氛圍。

As soon as I stepped inside, there were numerous artworks to admire. Among the plethora of paintings, what caught my attention the most was this wooden carved frame. Its three-dimensional sunflower shape evoked a sense of seasonality, giving the whole piece a warm ambiance.

在這裡欣賞藝術的優點是場內人數不多之外可以近距離欣賞各個藝術品，當然是不會有人去觸碰也沒有拉封鎖線，就是管理好自己即可，但是有些也是會寫著「PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH」的警語，不過看起來很不明顯就是了。

The advantage of appreciating art here is that aside from the sparse crowd, you can closely admire each artwork. Of course, there's an unspoken understanding not to touch anything or cross any barricades; it's just a matter of self-management. However, some pieces do have discreet warnings like "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH," although they may not be very prominent.

館內的設計其實每一區都非常不同，就像是一轉頭就能看到突然出現的雕刻拱門，這樣跳tone的驚喜我是非常喜歡，每一處都是未知值得去探索。

The interior design of the gallery is quite diverse; each area presents a unique ambiance. It's like turning a corner and suddenly encountering a carved archway. I really appreciate these unexpected surprises, adding a delightful tone to the experience. Every corner holds an element of the unknown, beckoning exploration.

遇到會觸碰到內心深處並讓我停下腳步好好欣賞的作品時我會沈浸在裡頭，偶爾會覺得這些都是一幅幅不同的景色而我正在欣賞這片光景。

When encountering artworks that touch my innermost being and compel me to pause and appreciate them, I find myself immersed in their depths. Sometimes, I feel as though I'm admiring a series of different landscapes, each captivating in its own right.

館內不只有展出平面的畫作也有許多立體作品也很值得細細觀賞，像是這個瓷盤上的畫帶有一些早期日本的風格的味道。

The gallery not only exhibits flat paintings but also showcases many three-dimensional artworks that are worth observing closely. For example, the painting on this ceramic plate carries a hint of early Japanese style.

而角落的棋盤格的遊戲桌也很精緻，一開始我以為是紙摺出來的桌子但其實是木製的棋盤桌，非常有趣的視覺欺騙。

The corner's checkered game table is also exquisite. Initially, I thought it was a table made of folded paper, but it turned out to be a wooden chessboard table—a fascinating visual deception.

也發現了一張製作精美的復古椅子，當然底下有說「PLEASE DO NOT SIT」，整體看起來我會覺得有點像台灣會有的藤椅，但是仔細看木頭雕刻的椅背比藤椅更精緻並且都是對稱的設計，如此精緻又帶點華麗椅子，名叫「Egypt  Chair」。

I also stumbled upon a beautifully crafted vintage chair, with a sign beneath stating "PLEASE DO NOT SIT." At first glance, it reminded me of the rattan chairs commonly seen in Taiwan, but upon closer inspection, the intricately carved wooden backrest was even more exquisite than that of a rattan chair, featuring symmetrical designs. Such an exquisite yet slightly ornate chair is named the "Egypt Chair."

而上頭的畫也吸引了我的注意，連畫框都選的別有用心。「Arthur STREETON」是一幅關於穆斯林婦女帶著厚重的面紗，有趣的是仔細看畫中的眼睛是刻意飄開，不做眼神的交流更帶出了許多神秘感。

The painting above also caught my attention, with even the frame chosen meticulously. "Arthur STREETON" depicts a Muslim woman wearing a heavy veil. Interestingly, upon closer inspection, the eyes in the painting are deliberately averted, avoiding direct eye contact and adding to the overall sense of mystery.

繼續往館內走在木桌上看到了一些立體石膏雕塑，看起來比較像是聖經或是神話有關的故事，也能看到正在參觀的人跟我們一樣正在慢慢的欣賞。Continuing further into the gallery, I noticed some three-dimensional plaster sculptures on wooden tables. They appeared to depict stories from the Bible or mythology. It was heartening to see other visitors, like us, taking their time to appreciate the artwork slowly.

再往後走就能看到一幅非常巨大的基督洗禮的畫作，雖然我不是基督教徒但站在這幅畫前的我卻有感動到，展區只有這幅畫的牆面是黃色，也許是有代表光明的意思。搭配著畫中光的灑落跟水的光波都好美，加上耶穌的祥和的面部表情彷彿我也站在水裡看著洗禮的這一切，而我也是站在這裡看了許久才緩緩離開。

Walking further, I encountered an exceptionally large painting depicting the baptism of Christ. Despite not being a Christian myself, standing before this painting moved me deeply. The wall surrounding this painting was painted yellow, perhaps symbolizing enlightenment. The way the light cascaded in the painting, along with the shimmering water, was incredibly beautiful. Coupled with the serene expression on Jesus' face, it felt as if I were also standing in the water, witnessing the baptism. I lingered here for quite some time before slowly moving on.

館內有許多聖經相關的畫作，有耶穌的信徒正在從十字釘上捧著耶穌，畫面構圖也非常的厲害，也有聖母與聖嬰的人物畫像，讓我很訝異的是聖嬰的人像非常的有靈性跟一種聰慧的氣勢，讓我目不轉睛地看著跟佩服。

The gallery housed many artworks depicting scenes from the Bible, including Jesus' followers cradling him after being taken down from the cross. The composition of these artworks was truly remarkable. There were also portraits of the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus. What astonished me was the spiritual presence and profound sense of wisdom conveyed in the portrayal of the infant Jesus. I couldn't take my eyes off it; I was utterly captivated and filled with admiration.

館內一共有三萬五千件作品，真的看不完，所以只有拍一些我很喜歡的作品們。有些巨大的作品也很想要近距離觀賞只可惜真的太高了。

The gallery boasts a total of 35,000 artworks, which is truly overwhelming to explore entirely. Therefore, I only managed to capture some of my favorite pieces. Some of the larger artworks were intriguing, and I wished I could have examined them up close, but unfortunately, they were too high to reach.

想看人物的油畫還是抽象的風格都有，甚至還有把畫作中的水壺給做出來的有趣展區也有，缺少靈感的時候真的很適合來這裡走一走，待一整天或是在這裡速寫也是一個很棒的體驗。

Whether you're interested in figurative oil paintings or abstract styles, the gallery offers a diverse range of artworks to explore. There are even interesting exhibition areas dedicated to recreating objects from paintings, such as water pitchers. When lacking inspiration, visiting here for a stroll can be incredibly rejuvenating. Spending a whole day or even sketching here is indeed a wonderful experience.

這幅「Now and Then」也很有趣，畫出鏡子反射的概念帶出Now和顛倒的Then，是一位現實主義的藝術家，發現我在維州的美術館無意間買過這位藝術家的明信片收藏，大家有興趣可以去收尋「John Brack」。

This piece, "Now and Then," is quite intriguing as it depicts the concept of reflection in a mirror, presenting both the present "Now" and the inverted "Then." It's created by a realist artist. Interestingly, I discovered that I have unintentionally collected postcards featuring artworks by this artist in a gallery in Victoria. If anyone is interested, you can search for "John Brack."

一樣是超現實主義的藝術家，一開始我以為是人體的腳掌細看又好像是紅色的岩石。

This artist, also a surrealist, initially appears to depict human footprints, but upon closer inspection, they resemble red rocks.

接著繼續往下走可以看到寫著「Ah!」的畫作，第一眼看到的時候我甚至跟著發出了「Ah!」的聲音，不過我不確定後面是寫什麼語言，只覺得幾幅平面的畫卻讓我腦中出現了聲音，是一件很有趣的事。

Continuing down the path, I came across a painting titled "Ah!" At first glance, I even found myself echoing "Ah!" in response. However, I'm not sure what language follows after. It's fascinating how several flat paintings can evoke auditory sensations in my mind.

這幅畫在二次世界大戰前的英國風景畫，陽光灑落下的景色就像暖暖的早晨陽光，好像也會聞到曬太陽的味道。

This painting depicts the English landscape before World War II, with sunlight streaming down like the warm morning sun. It feels as if you can almost smell the scent of sunbaked air.

也有一些當代藝術作品，「Dark matter collective 」，是由許多圓球組成的作品，當你越靠近黑色的部分就會越多就會收集更多暗物質，當你換不同的角度暗物質也會跟著變換。仔細看這些圓球沒有黑色的部分就像鏡子反射一樣，但當你靠近又會變成黑色的顏色，是館內一個很有趣的互動裝置。

There are also some contemporary art pieces, like the "Dark Matter Collective," composed of many spheres. As you approach the black parts, more dark matter seems to collect, and as you change angles, the dark matter shifts accordingly. Upon closer inspection, the spheres without black parts resemble mirrors reflecting back. However, when you approach, they turn black. It's a fascinating interactive installation in the gallery.

這個展間也比較像是當代藝術，牆面上繽紛的藝術作品使用類似毛線去勾勒出來的，遠看很像繽紛的麥片。

This exhibition space seems to lean towards contemporary art. On the walls, there are vibrant artworks outlined with yarn, giving the impression of colorful cereal grains from afar.

還有正在倒立旋轉一棵快要枯萎的樹，而地板上都是它掉落下來的葉子，帶給我一種生命的流逝，隨著旋轉代表時間飛快的流逝而生命就像葉子抓不住樹木我們人類也抓不住時間的慢慢落下。

There's also a piece featuring an upside-down, spinning tree on the verge of withering, with its fallen leaves scattered on the floor. It evokes a sense of the passage of life, where the spinning represents the rapid passage of time. Just as the leaves cannot grasp onto the tree, we as humans cannot hold onto time as it steadily slips away.

我很喜歡在還不知道這些藝術品的介紹之前先自己解讀，不需要言語就能產生連結。我認為那就是藝術帶給人的影響。

I really enjoy interpreting artworks on my own before knowing their descriptions. Without the need for words, I can already establish a connection. I believe that's the impact art has on people.

在一個門口前出現了滿身是釘子的兩個人，近距離看真的很震撼，再看到後面的霓虹燈寫著「save me 」更加衝擊，一開始我認為他們是一對情侶可能陷入在愛的泥淖中動彈不得，而在相處之中出現的爭吵變成一個釘子在對方身上留下傷口。但是介紹是說這兩個人物是雙胞胎，也許也能解讀一個是內在的自己而另一個是外在的自己，很直得深省的一件藝術品。

In front of a doorway, there were two people covered in nails, which was quite shocking up close. Upon seeing the neon sign behind them that read "save me," the impact was even more intense. Initially, I thought they were a couple, perhaps trapped in the quagmire of love, unable to move. The conflicts arising from their interaction became nails that left wounds on each other. However, the description revealed that these two figures were twins. Perhaps, it can also be interpreted that one represents the inner self while the other represents the outer self, offering profound reflections.

除了可以看到知名的草間彌生和鹽田千春的藝術品之外我覺得更好看的反而是那些非主流的藝術家，用第一直覺去看待作品而不是因為藝術家有名才喜歡。

Apart from being able to see artworks by well-known artists like Yayoi Kusama and Chiharu Shiota, I find that the works of lesser-known artists are even more appealing. I prefer to approach artworks with my initial instincts rather than liking them just because the artist is famous.

The video depicts an exhibition space by Chiharu Shiota, where the entire art museum is so quiet that the sound of my footsteps is the loudest noise in the room.

快走到門口前有一個小櫥窗模型裡有許多小人物，一開始以為是裡頭會是溫馨的童話故事的創作但仔細一看櫥窗裡的世界其實很貼近我們的現實。這是由英國的兩兄弟Jack Chapman 和Dinos Chapman所創造的藝術品。

As I approached the entrance, there was a small display window with many figurines. Initially, I thought it might contain creations depicting heartwarming fairy tales. However, upon closer inspection, the world inside the display window was actually quite close to our reality. This artwork was created by the British brothers Jack Chapman and Dinos Chapman.

其中還會出現知名速食餐廳的角色，不知是否是用來比喻現實中邪惡的企業運作的方式，其中包括壓榨勞工。甚至在可愛的玩偶面前放了顆漢堡讓人繼續工作下去的反諷意味濃厚。也是在比喻人們為了漢堡（漢堡代表金錢），而被奴役。

The display features characters from well-known fast-food restaurants, possibly serving as a metaphor for the sinister operations of real-life corporations, including the exploitation of labor. The presence of a hamburger placed in front of cute dolls, encouraging them to continue working, carries a strong sense of irony. It also symbolizes how people are enslaved in pursuit of hamburgers (representing money).

也會看到人偶看起來像是剛打完戰，每個人為了生存變的嗜血也有些人因為沒有食物而變得瘦骨如材。是一個很有趣的櫥窗藝術品，而人偶的大小以致於我們是以上帝視角在觀看這個微觀世界，又會發現與現實中會發生的故事出其的相似。

In the display, the dolls appear as if they've just emerged from a battle, each one becoming bloodthirsty for survival. Some are depicted as emaciated due to the lack of food. It's a fascinating showcase of art, and the size of the dolls positions us as if we're observing this microcosm from a god-like perspective. Moreover, one can't help but notice the striking parallels to stories that occur in real life.

這個櫥窗世界發生的每一個角落，都是你沒去看就不會去注意的事件，就如同這個真實的世界中發生的可怕事情如果沒有去關注就不會被注意，很厲害的作品值得細細去品嚐。

Every corner of this display world hosts events that you wouldn't notice unless you took the time to look, much like the terrifying events that occur in the real world—if left unobserved, they remain unnoticed. It's an impressive piece of work that deserves to be savored slowly.

快到出口處時就發現這件吊在這裡看起來像「一匹馬」的裝置藝術，站在旁邊會發現整體高度應該有三公尺高，近看會發現「這匹馬」是沒有頭的卻有五隻腳。

As I approached the exit, I noticed a suspended installation that resembled "a horse." Standing next to it, I realized it must be about three meters tall. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that "this horse" lacked a head but had five legs.

作品名稱為"We Are All Flesh"作品的解釋是思考人類是什麼，探索人類的處境所在。

這個荒誕而美麗的場景甚至可以直接做成專輯封面，有夠喜歡。

The artwork titled "We Are All Flesh" aims to contemplate what it means to be human and explore the human condition. This surreal yet beautiful scene could even be used directly as an album cover—I love it.

逛完整個美術館其實還意猶未盡，很適合待在這一整天尋找靈感。

而看起來不大的南澳美術館竟然是澳洲第二大的美術館，而第一大的美術館是墨爾本的維多莉亞美術館，下一篇再介紹，也是我放假時的會待一整天的地方。

After exploring the entire art museum, I still felt like there was more to discover. It's perfect for spending an entire day seeking inspiration.

Surprisingly, despite its modest appearance, the South Australian Art Gallery is actually the second-largest in Australia. The largest is the Victoria Art Gallery in Melbourne, which I'll introduce in the next piece. It's also a place where I could easily spend a whole day during my vacation.
