On our first stop in Brisbane, my friend and I stayed at a luxury apartment.
We thought it was just a normal place to stay, but later on, when we started working, everyone was shocked to hear that we stayed in a luxury apartment from the beginning.
After all, the cost of our two-night stay was equivalent to a week's rent. Looking back, it was quite extravagant of us.

We ended up staying for five or six days, which was probably the cost of a month's rent. But at the time, we hadn't even found jobs or a rental property, so we had no choice but to stay a few more days. After all, the apartment was very comfortable, and we didn't want to leave the comfort zone.
Walking in, there was a spacious balcony that complemented Brisbane's perfect weather and created a perfect opening scene.

The room was very spacious and had a perfect dishwasher, which I took a picture of as a souvenir.
It was definitely my dream item, and the thought of not having to wash dishes myself made me feel extremely happy.
However, because we only stayed for a few days and didn't have many dishes, we ended up washing them manually.
On the first night of our stay, I was blow-drying my hair with the hairdryer I brought from Taiwan when suddenly it started smoking and emitting a strong burnt smell. I was terrified and immediately unplugged it, narrowly avoiding a potential power outage in the entire luxury apartment building. Imagine having to pay for damages on our very first night?

Fortunately, I unplugged it in time. A word of caution, always check the voltage of your electrical appliances before using them, as my friend scolded me afterwards. Otherwise, I might have caused a power outage in this luxurious apartment and end up having to work for ten years just to pay for the repairs.

After packing up our things and calming down, I discovered that my friend had brought a pack of "Ping An Mian" (a type of Taiwanese instant noodles) with them. I couldn't help but ask why they didn't share it with me earlier, and maybe the hair dryer incident wouldn't have happened. However, my friend replied, "No way! We can only open it during a crisis." I pointed out that the hair dryer incident was definitely a crisis, but my friend just put the pack of noodles back into their luggage.

Walking alone and started to explore the streets, I felt very comfortable seeing the fruits arranged in this way in the fruit section. However, in my two years of living in Australia, I have only seen fruits arranged like this once. I wonder if it's only this store that has been specially trained.

Anyway, I dragged my basket and bought a lot of ingredients to prepare breakfast, and even bought two boxes of strawberries for 6 AUD each, which is equivalent to 120 NT in Taiwan. Without thinking, I just took two boxes. I felt like a strawberry tycoon. Little did I know that in my first job, I had to work in a strawberry packing factory, and now I am afraid of strawberries.

=
The supermarkets in Australia are very clean, and the air conditioning is strong. Milk is even cheaper than water. The ginger we often eat is the most expensive. Later on, I would only buy very small pieces of ginger.

In Australia, you can buy a carton of milk for just 3 AUD, which is about 60 TWD. It's so cheap that you'll always find a large carton of milk in the fridge. After shopping, you can go to the self-checkout, and I was really nervous the first time I used it alone, afraid that I might miss scanning the barcode. However, it was actually very simple and I even suspected that I might be discriminated against during checkout, but there was no such thing.

It's natural to feel anxious and paranoid when you're in a new and unfamiliar environment. However, it's important to remember that most places in Australia are generally safe and incidents of robbery or violence are relatively low. It's always a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings and take necessary precautions such as avoiding dark alleys or poorly lit areas at night. But overall, there's no need to let fear dictate your everyday life.

It was time for breakfast and I was ready to cook. As I opened the new carton of eggs, I was pleasantly surprised to find that each egg had a cute smiley face on it. I was immediately cheered up and felt so happy. I really love Australia and wish I could live here forever. It was a sudden burst of enthusiasm and excitement.

I feel a little guilty for beating the eggs.

After finishing a perfect meal, I got ready to go to the swimming pool. After all, I couldn't miss out on the public facilities in the upscale apartment building where I lived. With the spirit of the Hakka people, I changed into my swimsuit and headed downstairs. There was no one at the pool in the afternoon, and the pool was huge, but I didn't know how to swim, so I just soaked in the nearby spa pool.
There's also an outdoor BBQ grill next to the pool, which would be great for a pool party if you have a lot of people staying together. But it's also perfect for a small group or even just for yourself if you want to come here to relax and do nothing.

Spa
The massage in the spa was incredibly relaxing, I almost forgot if I was here for work or vacation.

Staying here until the evening, I didn't expect the scenery to become even more beautiful as it got closer to nightfall.
As I was enjoying the beautiful night view, my friend next to me suddenly wanted to do some water ballet, and I couldn't stop her so I just let her be.

The scenery became even more beautiful as evening approached, and people started to come in to use the pool. I even had the pleasure of watching two handsome Korean guys swimming and then later joining me in the spa pool. And then...nothing happened after that.
I personally give it a four-star recommendation, perhaps because of the large swimming pool and the spa.
Currently, the Republic Apartments cost nearly 10,000 NTD per night, which may be due to the post-pandemic situation. However, when I stayed there, the rate was around 7,000-8,000 NTD per night for a room that could accommodate four people.

This place is suitable for bringing older people together. There are elevators, washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers. It's just a few steps away from the city center, and there's a supermarket downstairs. If you get tired, you can just walk back to the apartment to rest.
Ending a perfect day.
